Mixed Fruit Jam
As a kid, I loved mixed fruit jam, but now with awareness and following whole plant based lifestyle, I know that store bought jam is full of preservatives. As the organic fruits were lurking around from the Sunday market, I thought of whipping up a jam.. And voila it’s yum. One can enjoy as a spread or just by itself.
- 2 bananas, mashed
- 1 piece of papaya, finely chopped
- 1 apple, grated
- 1 chiku, finely chopped
- Juice of 2 oranges
- 1 tbsp jaggery powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)
- Juice of half lemon
- Chia seeds for garnishing
- Take all the ingredients in a pan and cook slowly till the water is evaporated and all the fruits start coming together.
- Mash further with a masher. Add salt. Add the vinegar or lemon juice and preserve in the container for 10 days in fridge.
